Box Set Virgin!

Happy Friday!!

A few weeks ago the idea of doing a Box Set never entered my mind. But then I decided, hey, why not present a box set to readers? So I have put together the first four stories in the Key Club series and called the box set The Key Club. I guess I am no longer a Box Set Virgin. *grin*

The Set is available at Amazon and is on pre-order at Barnes & Noble and Apple.

Here’s the lowdown on my first ever Box Set, which is set in an unnamed town in Alberta, Canada.

Hope you like it. :-)

Pre-order:  Apple | Nook | Smashwords Releases June 15, 2014
Available NOW: Kindle (A Kindle Best Seller)

Step into The Key Club where two men are better than one and themed Ménage nights make your naughtiest fantasies come true. Includes Best Sellers: A Merry Ménage Christmas, Marley’s Ménage, Ménage and recently released Sophie’s Ménage.

Contains the first four books in Jan Springer’s contemporary erotic romance ménage series.

Marley’s Ménage: Single, soon-to-be mom, Marley Madison, is having some very naughty cravings. She wants a ménage and she needs it bad. When she gets word her local swinger’s club is having a ménage night specifically for pregnant women, count her in!

Marley’s ex-flames, Rick Antonia and Kacey Poole, have just gotten back to town after serving in the Special Ops for many years. When the two men spot Marley at the Key Club, they can’t believe how much she’s changed. Her sweetly rounded belly arouses them and her curvy breasts intrigue them. They want her back in their bed and they’re going to make sure her dream of a scorching ménage comes true!

Suddenly Marley is pleasure bound and shocked that her two ex-lovers are as passionate as ever. She’s never been so aroused by their caring touches and tender kisses…but Marley was in love with them years ago and she’s vowed not to let that complication happen again…

A Merry Ménage Christmas: Dr. Kelsie Madison can’t remember the last time she’s had no-strings sex and that’s her clue she’s been working way too hard. It’s time to unwind at the Key Club by indulging in a yummy Christmas present for herself. Something she’s never experienced before - a red-hot ménage.

ER Dr. Ryder Greene and his roommate, physiotherapist, Dixon Flynn love sharing their women. They’ve had their eye on cute Dr. Kelsie Madison for quite some time, but she’s a workaholic and she never has time to play. When they learn she’ll be at the Santa Claus Ménage Night festivities, they’ll make sure they’re the ones kissing Kelsie under the mistletoe. And if they get their wish, Kelsie will be taking them home for Christmas.

Sophie’s Ménage: It’s Spank-Me Ménage Night at the Key Club and Sophie is finally taking the plunge back into the scene. She didn’t count on her two hunky ex-flames to be there or for their renewed interest in her. They’re the only men who could ever make her climax, but she’s determined not to submit to her naughty desires where they’re concerned, especially after the way they’d left her. Surely a bit of harmless teasing wouldn’t hurt in order to show them what they could have had…

Oil rig workers, Steve and Eric, are back in Alberta and they can’t wait to bend the sweet, timid hairstylist over their knees to give her the sensual spankings she craves. But the surprise is on them when they catch her wearing a sexy spank dress while auctioning herself to the highest bidder. Who knew the shy little firecracker could be such a sultry tease? Or that she wasn’t going to be easily led back to their bed…

Ménage: Sandwiched between constant deadlines and suffering a bad case of writer’s block, erotic romance author, Claire Miller, decides it’s time to unwind with a sensual ménage at The Key Club. When she’s paired with a couple of well-hung hunks, she knows they’ll make her naughtiest dreams come true.
Instant attraction make Josh and Levis take notice of the timid woman at the Club. She’s a hot dream the two men can’t wait to experience, and their desire for Claire becomes a pleasure they don’t want to escape...
Happy Reading!

Panic Time

As my trip to Lori Foster's Reader and Author Get Together approaches, my panic level is rising. For one thing, I've got to fly, which isn't a big deal, I enjoy airplanes, but I worry about getting to the airport on time. The whole get there two hours early means I have to be there for 8am. Hello rush hour traffic in Ottawa. Next, are the nightmares I get to the airport and realize I don't have my passport. Don't laugh. I've woken up a few times now in a complete state of panic lol. Oh, and then there's going through security and stuff. I know I'm not a terrorist, but some of those guys are so serious looking and I am so giggly, that I really worry about getting hauled off and put under a bright light as they grill me on why I'm traveling to the USA. Me: I'm going to a romance convention.(giggle, giggle) Him: What for? Me: Because I'm an author. Him: You write that mommy porn stuff? Me: Romance, yes, with aliens and werewolves. Him: Okay... (eyebrows raised - hand signal to his backup indicating crazy lady alert) Now assuming, I get checked in fine and on time, and get on the plane, then there's the fear I won't make my connecting flight. I'm landing in Washington, a new to me airport and have 45 minutes between my first flight and second. Tight, I know. I am so worried about making it. Will I be one of those people running through the airport screaming, "I'm coming, wait for me!" What happens if I miss it? What will I do? Will anyone care if I sit on the floor and cry? lol. Then, I land in Cinncinnatti where I am supposed to meet my lovely volunteer who is giving me a ride. What if I can't find her?! What if she's like the lady from Misery and she drives me to a remote cabin and demands I bring the mastermind back to life? LOLOLOL. Okay, now I'm just being silly :) Once I manage to navigate all those pitfalls and make it to the hotel, like thousands of travelers do every day, then I know I will have an awesome time. Until Sunday, when I get to panic all over again about the return flight. lol. How are you when it comes to traveling? Do you just casually hop on a plane/train/automobile without a sweat or are you like me, unable to help yourself from imagining all kinds of scenarios where things will go wrong? Oh and for those who wonder if I worry about my luggage not showing. I've got that one covered. I always bring a spare set of clothes in my carry on. Now here's to hoping the guys who check it don't yank out my big girl panties and wave them around for everyone to see. LOL.

Small Town Canadian Girl Survived New Orleans

One of my fave locales in NOLa -- Jackson Square. The cathedral was gorgeous!!

Last week was intense, amazing, tiring and an adrenaline rush all in one. I'm a small town girl who runs a cattle farm with her family, so for me to head out alone into the U.S. was not something I do often. I spend most of my time at home. I've been major lucky in the fact that I can be at home with my kids every night after school, my husband makes it possible for me to be a stay-at-home Mom, and to be an author! I don't deal well with crowds, never have really, and there was a lot of nervousness and fear at the thought of the crowds I was about to pushed into.

New Orleans, Louisiana is huge, and I know I only saw maybe a quarter of it while I attended the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention last week. It was my fifth one, but this one I went on my own. Getting up at midnight to be on the road at 1 a.m. to drive across the border and take a flight out of Syracuse, NY., is definitely something I'll cherish. I'm not a world traveler so to do that on my own, I give myself an A+. LOL Sure I've done past Cons to Chicago, Daytona Beach, and a couple others, but NOLA ... a whole different place all together!!

Of course I ended up with a connecting flight in Chicago, and hauled ass from one gate to another, AND THEN I realized that time was behind an hour so my workout through the airport was appreciated. *snark*
And my flight to NOLA was delayed nearly an hour, but I met some nice people who were also traveling to NOLA and we discussed books -- what else does an author talk about really?? -- and the ladies all asked for business cards. So I was happy that I was not sitting in a corner, head down, fearing anyone wanting to talk to me. I needed to be brave, converse and get over the nerves of being around so many people.

I arrived in NOLA finally, found my friend and roomie, JoAnne Kenrick. And I instantly relaxed. Her vibe was also one of nerves because it was her First RT Con. This put me at ease because I became the "expert" who would do anything to see her through the week. But there was still one HUGE swarm of butterflies in my tummy -- the chance to meet my writing Idol (one of many), Suzanne Brockmann. And meet her I did! With tears, hands shaking, and pretty sure I heard my own voice crack once or twice in the ten minute conversation. Meeting her someday was #10 on my bucket list. And I LOVED crossing that off. Suzanne is a gracious and sweet lady. I met her husband, Ed, and daughter, Melanie, too. Suzanne & Melanie are writing a YA series together as well! Am looking forward to that.

The whole week ended up being one of the most fabulous trips I have ever been on. The scenery is amazing. Bourbon St. -- fun and frantic -- but still loved its charm. The food was plentiful no matter where I ate, and oh so good! People were very friendly too -- from the hotel staff to the people on the streets. Again, Bourbon St. is a world all its own and people were extra friendly LOL but everyone was super.

Here's some pix with captions of some of the highlights. I could go on for pages and pages, but I'll only post a few.

Here I am with Suzanne! Inside I was still shaking and felt as though I was in a dream. Highlight of my year right here *g*

I knew the temptation to buy a lot of books at the bookfair would be hard to resist, I brought a CDN flag from home to have some fave authors sign it. It will hang in my office once renovated. Wonderful peeps who signed -- Jaci Burton, Cherry Adair, Tess Gerritsen, Suzanne Brockmann, Sylvia Day and more.

And of course, an Author never stops working -- I found a hottie to help me with inspiration...

And me again, this time in front of the Mississippi River! Wow. Such a great trip.

See you again soon.

Saint John~Canada's Oldest City and Setting for Timeless Love #timetravel @KarynGerrard

1969—Underworld enforcer Joey Indelli didn't expect an English Regency Era carriage to appear before his very eyes in a thunderbolt of light. Inside he discovers a disoriented beauty, the honorable and delectable Catherine Worthington.

Catherine finds herself immediately attracted to her rough and very masculine rescuer but is determined to return to her home in 1821 Cornwall, England.

Seeing the carriage appear in front of him, Indelli believes her story but is convinced she has no choice but to stay in 1969.

Will the love that develops between them fade with their parting or somehow keep them together and prove...timeless?

  • File Size: 311 KB
  • Print Length: 97 pages
  • Publisher: Evernight Publishing (March 22, 2012)

This time travel is a little different as you can read from the blurb. The heroine is from 1821, but lands in 1969! Groovy baby!
I decided to set this in the city where I was born (I moved to Nova Scotia when I was five) All my extended family still lives here.

COOL FACT: My ancestor was a Loyalist (which means he fought for the British), he landed in Saint John with his family after the American Revolutionary War, so my roots there go deep.  (He came from Georgia, after immigrating there in 1769 from Scotland)

A few facts: (WIKI)  Saint John is the largest city in the Canadian province of New Brunswick, and the second largest in the maritime provinces. It is known as the Fundy City due to its location on the north shore of the Bay of Fundy at the mouth of the Saint John River, as well as being the only city on the bay. In 1785 Saint John became the first incorporated city in Canada

Above is a shot of the 'uptown' as Saint Johners call it, circa late 60's. I had a nostalgic trip down memory lane setting this story in Saint John. I listened to '60's music as I wrote. I'm aging myself to say I was a little kiddie in the late '60's and remembered the city a lot from numerous trips staying with my grandparents, my grandfather even made a cameo appearance in the story!

Saint John has changed a lot since the Sixties, much of the manufacturing (like everywhere) has disappeared,
but there are a ton of old, interesting buildings and tourist attractions in and around the old city. In the heart of the uptown is King's Square.

A beautiful park setting, the bandstand has been there since 1908 and has recently been refurbished. A lot of concerts in the summer months. King's Square has been there for centuries. It was built first, and the city sprung up around it.
Across from King's Square is the Loyalist Burial Ground, also a park of its own. Not many of the old gravestones still stand, but the ones that do are cool.

Click on this LINK to get a 360 degree view of the area~

And yes, my Hero and heroine visit the 'uptown' including King's Square!  If you're every in the Maritime provinces, check out Saint John!

TIMELESS LOVE

Finding The Perfect Location

Holy smokes, June is just around the corner, and my writing schedule is still out of wack! Moving along, after finishing my recent edits for a historical romance, I took a gander at my outstanding projects. My full length paranormal romance Pandemonium (Mistress of Forsaken Souls, Book 1), lacked a decided location.

Upon further reflection, I want to build my characters in a deep and wild sense. It wasn't until I was screwing around on Pinterest did I find some lovely photos from Northern Ontario, which is my neck of the woods. So why the heck wouldn't I place the book in and around the Algoma region? Hell...we're even on the border of the upper peninsula of Michigan.

Now that the location is decided, I guess I better hurry up and get editing.

Here's some photo's I thought I share to help give you some hints about what the novel is about. :)

So, how do you think think this all these images fit together?

Living in the country Canadian Style ~ It's not all open spaces ~ Jessica E. Subject #romance

For four wonderful years of my life, I lived out in the country. I'm not talking wide open spaces with nothing but fields and road for miles. No, farming in Southwestern Ontario is a bit different. I don't know of any ranches in the area. Most are small, family-run farms that raise chickens, pigs, or cows (beef or dairy). There is the occasional horse stable, and I've even seen emu and elk farms. But, there is no cattle drives. Maybe out West in the Prairies, but not around here. Those who do work on the farm still do wear cowboy boots and hats, but it's more for going out than for cleaning stalls and milking cows. We do have rodeos around here ~ Milverton Rodeo ~ But it's not as big as the Calgary Stampede.

Fall is so beautiful out in the country.

Out in the country, I saw new bugs I didn't even know existed (pseudoscorpians and woolly aphids), chased a pheasant down the road when I was pregnant (they run like the road runner), and learned to sleep through mice running through the walls (yeah, I learned to use mouse traps, too).

The pheasant is in the middle of the picture.

I also learned a lot about dairy farming that I would have never known living in the city. No, I don't think I could work on a dairy farm, but my husband did. And with his help for research, I wrote ACCIDENTAL ROMANCE based on my years living in the country, and stories from friends and my husband.

Enjoy an Excerpt:

Leanne ducked, trying to avoid the apple flying toward her. With its speed, it stirred her hair, but she avoided contact. Instead, the fruit smashed against the wall then fell to the floor, a mess of brown pulp and skin. She stood and glared at the source of the flying object. “Jake, you’re such an ass.”
He grinned at her from across the milking parlor, tossing into the air another rotten apple he must have grabbed when he put the cows out to pasture. “You’d better be nice to me, LA, if you want me to do your chores tonight.”

With a huff, she rolled her eyes. “Whatever. I wasn’t the one who threw fruit at your head.” She cursed him several times a day for such pranks. Often he’d tossed her in the manure pile or turned the pressure hoses on her. He lived with his family down the road, and if their parents weren’t such good friends, she would have told her father to fire Jake years ago.

“What do you have planned for tonight anyway?” He sauntered toward her, gripping the other apple so hard, she expected pulp to squeeze between his fingers. “Going out with your boyfriend?”

She cringed, hating how he mocked her with the word. “Jealous, much?”

Taking a step back, he scowled. “You wish. Why should I care who you date? You’re a grown woman.”

“I’m glad you noticed.” She reached down for a piece of straw and poked him in the chest with it. “So, why is it such a problem?”

He shrugged his shoulders, his expression suddenly indifferent. “I think you can do better.”

She poked him again. “What, like you?”

He leaned closer, his face only an inch from hers. His musky scent overpowered the sweet stench of the barn and filled her senses. If he hadn’t been a constant pain in her ass, she might have thought he was going to kiss her.

“In your dreams.”

Should have known. She chuckled and tapped his cheek a couple times with her palm. “I can honestly say you have never been in any of my dreams. Not even my nightmares. And if you must know, I’m going out with my friends from college.” She spun around and called over her shoulder. “Tomorrow I’ll be with Scott.”

She headed out of the barn. A field of wheat waited for her, and she had to harvest it before she went out.

New Series!

Squeeeeing! I have a new contemporary erotic romance ménage I’ve been working on and is ongoing.

It is based in a fictional town located somewhere in the foothills of Alberta’s Rocky Mountains in Canada.

The series is called The Key Club and centers around a swinger’s club, keys to the Club’s naughty rooms, a trick top hat, and the Club owner, Jaxie, who is a natural born matchmaker. She knows the Club regulars and when she senses a trio is going to be a perfect match, she’ll secretly arrange it so they get matching keys to the same room during her themed menage nights.
The first in this series is Menage, and it’s about an erotic romance author, Claire, who gets writers block right when she has looming deadlines. What better way for her to loosen up and regain her creative spark than to pop over to The Key Club during Menage Night and blow of some sexual steam.

Here’s a peek at Menage:
Sandwiched between constant deadlines and suffering a bad case of writer’s block, erotic romance author, Claire Miller, decides it’s time to unwind with a sensual ménage at The Key Club. When she’s paired with a couple of well-hung hunks, she knows they’ll make her naughtiest dreams come true.
Instant attraction make Josh and Levis take notice of the timid woman at the Club. She’s a hot dream the two men can’t wait to experience, and their desire for Claire becomes a pleasure they don’t want to escape.
ebook:

KindleNook | Nook UKARe | ibooks | Kobo | Smashwords | Oyster | Spunky Girl | Google Play| Google Books

My Vampires Don't Sparkle...and they like to bite

Yeah, so, mother day has come and gone, but this year was particularly awesome. I, of course, got my traditional, mommy doesn't cook day. Breakfast pancakes with bananas made by my oldest. Lunch was burgers on the barbecue. And dinner was made by hubby - barbecued steak on the grill with a yummy baked potato and salad. Delicious!

We did our traditional thing too. We hit Lowes bright and early to grab some flowers. We cleaned out the beds and planted - and yes, I'm optimistic that frost won't kill my new plants. I went with hardy stuff, though; pansies and marigolds because I've found them difficult for even me to kill, lol. We cleaned the whole yard up and put out the patio furniture, because hey, what's mother's day without some type of manual labor. (At least we weren't laying interlock like we did one year!)

And, my newest Pack book launched!!!

Yeah, despite the excitement of the mother day festivities in my house, lol, that kind of made my day. I'm really excited about New Pack Order which is the fourth book in the series. I've taken my bestselling series into a new direction. Introduced new dilemmas and characters and wrote what I think is an awesome story. I hope, lol. Now it's up to readers to decide if I succeeded.

It's A Small World

Every now and then, a funny coincidence will happen that reminds you no matter how BIG the world is, it's also small.

As a romance writer, I work from home. I don't commute or interact with many people because of this. When it comes to being able to hang out with my peers, we're not prolific. Or so I thought... When I began organizing the romance conference for 2015, I set out to actively find Canadian authors. To my delight and surprise, there are more of us than I thought. Alot more, lol. Some even live, literally right around the corner from me (yes, I'm talking about you, Opal Carew! lol) and some only minutes away. I recently discovered, Reece Butler is close enough to meet for a coffee. Something we're planning to do shortly. And since she was a new to me author, I hunted down her stories and found out she has a new release which I'm now going to share with you. Because sharing is caring lol.

 * * *

Tough rancher Lila Frost is determined to prove to her parents that she can manage the Circle C Ranch while they're away for a month. She's desperate for hired hands, so eagerly signs up Jet Quartermain and "Houston".

Having just left the Army, Jet wants to ease into civilian life while Houston needs to recover from his injuries. Lila's experience with men has been limited and boring, though her fantasy life is rich. Jet's insistence he be her master at night both arouses and annoys her. Naturally dominant men, they find her independence an enjoyable challenge. She enjoys their attention, and the jealousy shown by spiteful rivals from her past.

The stakes are raised with the possibility of pregnancy as Jet, born a bastard, insists a baby means a husband while Lila refuses to consider it. When Lila's life is threatened all three must reconsider their pasts, the present, and future plans.

Canada is Cool, and I Don't Mean the Weather! by @KarynGerrard #Canada

There are articles out there saying 'yes we're cool' (Americans think so!) and some articles here in Canada that say we are not (thanks to who is Prime Minister) I won't bore you with the political landscape of Canada, instead, let's get to the cool stuff.

Canadian Music. Oh, how we rock the house. Jessica E Subject tackled this subject HERE and from The Guess Who, through Rush, BTO, Neil Young, Loverboy, Bryan Adams, and yes, I'll say it, Nickelback, we know how to make the amplifiers blow apart.

Canadian Leading Men: From Stephen Amell (Arrow) to Ryan Gosling and Ryan Reynolds, these hunks are gorgeous, self-effacing and can be funny as hell (hey, we're known for our sense of humour) Follow Stephen Amell on Twitter, he's a hoot. Look at that friendly, handsome face. YAY Canada!
He's also happily married and a new dad. Also follow Patrick J Adams (Suits) on Twitter, another cute Canadian guy who winks at life and himself.
(I'll save Canadian comedy for another post)

We sound like Americans, but write like the Brits. And no, most of us do not say 'aboot' instead of about. ;) We even use phrases from both countries just to confuse the hell out of everyone.

Pissed (American) to be mad
Pissed (UK) to be drunk

In Canada we use both...and in one sentence!

"Man, I'm pissed off you're pissed!"

We've had gays in the military for decades. Gay marriage has been legal here since 2005. We have universal health care. Not as good as Europe, but it will do. No worries about going bankrupt if you are hospitalized. Is it perfect? No. But it works on triage. You come into emergency with an in-grown toenail, yeah, you're going to have to wait. But if you're really sick? Canada has your back.

The country is HUGE.  WIKI:  Canada Listeni/ˈkænədə/ is a country in North America consisting of 10 provinces and 3 territories. Located in the northern part of the continent, it extends from the Atlantic to the Pacific and northward into the Arctic Ocean. At 9.98 million square kilometres in total, Canada is the world's second-largest country by total area, and its common border with the United States is the world's longest land border shared by the same two countries.

Okay, I will admit during the winter with the exceptions of the east and west coasts and southern Ontario, Canada can be cold, as in brrrr. But, we are hardy stock, and no, you don't need a parka in the summer, I swear.

We are in the upper top of global lists, for education, wealth, safe place to live, and longevity. We do rock. We are cool! Not perfect, but we're doing okay, eh?

But who are the coolest of all? Romance writers of Canada. These chicks know how to spin a hot, sexy tale and the ladies at this blog are no exception. Next year, there will be a romance convention in Ottawa (Canada's capital) Check it out HERE. And check out Canadian romance authors books!

Canada.

True North. Strong. And hell yeah...FREE.

Pass the maple syrup.

Racing Inspiration for Kacey Hammell’s Latest HAWT Release #PrankMe #NewRelease #Erotic

I confess, I’m quite a fan of Nascar, Indy Racers and Daytona 500 races. I’m not completely glued to the TV – keep your hands off my popcorn and don’t walk in front of the screen!!!! – and I’m especially proud of the many Canadian Drivers we have – Paul Tracy being a particular fave. Also appreciate the driving talents of Alex Tagliani.

And quite often, if you come for a visit, you will be exposed to a lot of “driving” movies as well. Bullitt, Driven, Days of Thunder, Gone in 60 Seconds, Smoky and the Bandit and more. I love the rev of the engines, the speed, adrenaline, and wish I was in every one of those cars!

During the summer, I try to get out to these 2 speedways as often as I can. They’re very close to home and are always exciting. And I’ve been a “pit girl” a time or two. LOL

I’m hoping that I can take the beginning of Lark’s story – found in PRANK ME – and revisit again to write a longer story. I think I’ve just skimmed the surface of her career.

As the heat smolders and revs from zero to sixty in mere seconds, Lark realizes she's on a crash course with love that no amount of braking will stop.

Inside Scoop:  No holds barred sexual teasing, dances meant to titillate and push you over the edge, and M/F love scenes to get engines revving.
