Keeping Warm in Canadian Winter...How Hot Do You Like It?

How Hot Do You Like It?

There are mixed opinions about winter in Canada. There are those who love it, and those who hate it.
I'm somewhere in the middle. How can that be, you ask? There are many variables to take into consideration. So here's my list:

             Love:
    • Extra reasons to cuddle
    • The crackle of the warm fire on a cold winter's night
    • The smell of wood burning in the fireplace
    • Hot Cocoa or a great cup of tea
    • More time indoors attached to my laptop
    • Snow days where Mother Nature determines if I leave home
    • Watching my minions building snow men
    • Sledding
    • Cozy Sweaters
    • Leggings and long pants
    • Scarves made with love
    • Curl up with a glass of wine and snuggle under a blanket

             Hate:
    • Salt-stained boots
    • The crowded and cluttered mud room
    • Schizphrenic weather
    • Ice storms
    • Muddy cars
    • Dangerous commutes
    • Not being able to BBQ as often
    • Limited bond fires outside
    • Yellow snow
    • Bitter cold (below -20 c)
    • Unburying your car, your porch, your driveway...
    • Any kind of shoveling in general!

Most of all, I love steamy Canadian Romances that chase the chills away.
I love reading them, I love writing them. Without spending a fortune to travel to romantic getaways with balmy weather and smexy men in next-to-nothing, romance stories can sweep you off your feet.
There is nothing better than to be curled up with your favourite bevvy, a fantastic book and a cozy blanket with the crackling fire just feet away from you.

This winter and early spring, I'm so excited to be bringinng not one, but two fiery releases with dragons to warm your hearts!

A Wiccan Haus-Dragon Menage

Coming in March, 2017:

My story in this anthology is another smokin' hot dragon menage called

March Break Blues mixed with Early Release!

Hello in the land to Romance Eh!

It's been a long, dreary March Break here in Eastern Ontario. Rain, rain, snow, and more rain. Mud everywhere, finding it's way into every nook and cranny of my car, my shoes, my coat and my house!

With two young kids off school for the week, one would usually plan day trips and fun outings, but instead, we've been stuck indoors most of the time since my first born took a terrible spill and tore a few ligaments in her ankle.

Thankfully, nothing is broken, but soft tissue takes just as long to heal, so my sweet minion is confined to crutches, no stairs and limited outings. It's been a dreadful week for her. An injured, sweet girl with a great deal of pent up energy equals a very cranky teen, coupled with an enthusiastic younger brother who worships his big sister, we now have a recipe for petty arguments and endless bickering. This Momma is ready for March Break to be over!

I am happy to see her love of reading continues to grow, not because of her confinement, but she's had more time to indulge because of it. Over the last two weeks, I've bought her three books from the Land of Stories series by Chris Colfer, she absolutely loves this series, and reads to her little brother every night at bedtime, which more than makes up for the bickering.

We've made a few small trips to pick up necessities and visit a darling friend to lighten the load, but I'm pretty confident my minions are even more eager for them to get back to school than I am.

On a happier note, my newest release was supposed to come out April 8, but it's here early, so it's time to celebrate!

My newest ménage, A Cougar Among Wolves is part of Decadent Publishing's smash hit series, Black Hills Wolves.

A sadistic attack leaves Klaya, a Puma Clan Cougar, critically injured and the last of her family ferociously slain. She stumbles into Black Hills Wolf territory and collapses. Now under the protection of the pack, she finds herself whisked away to hide out in a cave until her old friend, the alpha returns. Potentially the last of her shifter kind, she has nothing left to lose, but her life and a chance to avenge her brother.
After a dangerous rescue, on the edge of pack territory, Seth and Rogue take a woman on the brink of death back to the pack. Her identity and why she was brutalized is a mystery. The pieces soon fit together and the realization this assault was no coincidence. The Black Hills Wolves pack faces a bigger threat than they could even imagine. The trio soon find themselves on a tumultuous journey of life and death, and relentless lust.

Klaya paused and tried to steady her shaky fingers, mustering the courage she needed most right now. “How’s your drink, Seth?” She sat down adjacent to them.
“Fantastic.” He grinned.
A surprising playfulness rolled over her. “Bet there’s something I can do neither of you can.”
“Climb trees, catch wild game, outrun us?” Seth chimed in with a curious smile.
“Oh, those things.” She waved off his innocence. “I mean something a little more…sassy.”
“Such as?” Rogue narrowed his eyes.
She collected her own garnish and held it up in front of her mouth with a smirk. “Can you tie your cherry stem into a knot, boys?”
“It’s not rocket science. Sure.” Rogue took the bait and started twisting his between his fingers.
“Anyone can do it like that…I mean, with no hands?”
Rogue and Seth lowered their cups and glanced at each other with wide eyes.
“You can tie it in a knot, with no hands?” Seth’s disbelief spurred her on.
She winked and popped the juicy morsel into her mouth. She gripped and tugged with her teeth and devoured the delectable sweetness. “I most certainly can.” Klaya winked and tilted her head back. Satisfied with her captive audience, she eased the stem into her mouth. She swirled her tongue over twisting it into a circle and utilized her teeth as she tucked one end through the hole. Content with her performance, she parted her lips and held the knot between her teeth. She collected it between her thumb and fingertip with a grin and presented her prize to her observers. “Ta da.”
“Holy shit!” Rogue squirmed and adjusted his pants.
Klaya glanced down, pleased with his unmistakable bulge. She snickered when she caught sight of Seth tucking his shirt over his zipper.
“Your talent is, uh….” Seth’s voice was gruff.
“Mind-blowing,” Rogue offered in a throaty whisper.

I'm Back! Hopefully Not With a Cold Front Either.

© Can Stock Photo Inc. / firewings

Howdy folks, and welcome from the freezing north. While there's no snow in sight, yet, I suspect it really just around the corner.

You're probably wondering why I'm even mentioning snow before Remembrance Day, or the American Thanksgiving. That's because usually come Halloween, the first sign of snow has arrived. Last year it was mid-November the snow came and never left until April. We're pretty much hoping we don't have a repeat of last year, so pray for us. LOL

In other news unrelated to the cold and dreary season upon us, my previously published novella Scandal at Vauxhall and the following books in the Pleasure Garden Follies series will be rereleasing starting in February by Liquid Silver Books.  I'm so glad my first historical romances will be returned to ebook retailers soon.

I've also got a few new series in the works and will share more information as soon as I can. In the meanwhile, how about you tell me how you prepare for the winter chill? I usually make sure I have tons of blankets throughout the house so everyone has an opportunity to curl up, especially with an awesome book. If I had an actually wood burning fireplace, I suppose now would be the appropriate time to make sure the wood was ready too.

In the name of keeping warm, how about I share a teaser from erotic contemporary novella His Unexpected Submissive.

Alex couldn’t help but be amused at how red the woman had turned. If thongs weren’t her thing, who was he to deny if she wanted to go bare? His blood rushed to his lower extremities. She kept herself meticulously groomed, but her bare ass would look lovely marked with his handprint. If she stayed long enough tonight, he’d even see to her preparation personally. If she were interested.
“Now, now, Mercedes. There’s no need to be shy. Poppy, run along. Master Brian is waiting. I do believe you’ll be needing this.” He passed her a black riding crop. “Be sure to tell him you’ll need three strikes for deliberately breaking house rules.”
“Yes, Master Alex.” She accepted the implement and stormed off, clearly knowing how much trouble she was in.
He walked further into the room and stopped behind Mercedes, bending his head to take in the soft, feminine scent of vanilla. Alex kissed the crook of her neck and pulled her back into his chest. “You look utterly delectable, Mercedes. If it helps you, for tonight, I’ll permit you to keep your polka-dot panties on…but the bra has to come off.”
Alex felt her tremble beneath his touch. Was she afraid, or simply inexperienced? He’d find out soon enough, as he intended to bring her much pleasure.
He turned her around and lifted her chin. “Mercedes, I asked you to do something. You will acknowledge me by answering with ‘Yes, Sir’.”

That plan is blown when she discovers an abandoned carriage deep in the woods. Inside is a man, Jerrod Ross, who fuels all of her wicked Regency dreams and fantasies. Take him home? Sure, why not?
Jerrod Ross has been ripped from the only world he has ever known—1821 Cornwall, England. A mine owner with many responsibilities, all he wants to do is return to his time. But his growing attraction for the lovely lady who found him makes staying in the future a temptation he finds hard to resist.
Torn between duty and desire, past and future, the hardest thing Sandra and Jerrod will do is admit their feelings. Or say—goodbye.

Excerpt:

Sandra, with eyes closed, soaked in the lush bubbles, her head resting on the bath pillow. She’d been tempted to go to Jerrod’s room and knock on the door and offer comfort and sympathy, but ultimately decided to leave him in peace. Could she have handled the conversation between them any better? Hardly. Jerrod had to be told what she found out, and she couldn’t blame his reaction either. The look of raw devastation on his handsome face cut straight through her heart. She hurt for him. Maybe she should check on him after her soak.
A deep sensuous voice filled the silence. “Move forward, Sandra.”
Gasping, her eyes snapped open.  “I thought you retired for the night?”
“I’ve had a change of heart.” He gave her a brief, but sensual smile. “I am not a man who wallows for long in a state of piteous self-indulgence. In fact, I am more of a man of action.”
Jerrod stood next to the tub gloriously naked. And aroused. What a delicious sight. Taking a moment to savor the view, she realized things between them were moving in a different direction tonight. The prospect of sex with this man amped her desire right off the charts. Good thing she owned an old-fashioned clawed foot tub that could easily accommodate them both. As she slid forward, Jarrod stepped in behind her and sank to his knees, gently pulling her against his hard chest. Slowly and with purpose, he stroked her skin.
“Allow me to wash you,” he whispered. His arousal pressed heavy and thick against her back. While massaging her scalp, he laid kisses along the exposed part of her neck setting her skin ablaze. With a flip of the cap of her bottle of bodywash, the odor of grapefruit filled the air. He moved his gel-covered hands in circular motions on her neck, then down to her shoulders. “Still not fond of the scent, but on you it is quite enticing,” he murmured. White, foamy suds oozed through his fingers while he lingered on her breasts. She reached for a washcloth and with a trembling hand, held it behind her.
“Maybe you would like to use this,” she whispered.
“I want no impediment between my hands and your glorious skin,” his husky voice rumbled.
Obviously, what in hell was she thinking? What did she know about bathtub seduction rules? Sandra threw the damp cloth across the room where it landed with a splat against the toilet tank. No impediment. Check.
