Hi! Have we met? I’ve been MIA for a little while so I
thought that it would be a great opportunity to re-introduce myself. I’m Tricia
Daniels and I live in a small town in Southern Ontario, Canada, called
Orangeville. It was a great place to raise my three kids, especially as a
single parent. Creativity and imagination was something there is never a short
supply of in my home. My kids come by their talents honestly. My goal is
simple, tell my story, warm a few hearts, shed a few tears, share a silent
chuckle, and occasionally, make people blush.
That’s the official version. But the simple truth is... I’m
just a normal woman, struggling to pay the bills and trying to raise my kids in
a home where they feel empowered, supported and loved. Sounds easy, right? Not
so much for a woman who left an extremely violent relationship with three small
children in the middle of the night. Things were not all puppies and rainbows.
My kids didn’t have an easy life for several years. Kids shouldn’t have to worry
about anything except being kids. If you meet me, you’d probably never know
that, to this day, I still suffer from post-traumatic stress. After keeping
myself guarded for several years, I’ve met a wonderful man who understands my
anxiety and my triggers. For the first time in my life, I feel safe and I feel loved.
I have a diploma in Industrial maintenance and several
business certificates and yet, I can’t make a box of instant mashed potatoes
without completely messing them up. My children refer to the smoke detector as
the dinner bell. Sighs. Every girl needs to have a skill and mine apparently is
not cooking. Iol I currently have a very demanding corporate career that keeps
me challenged and engaged. I think my boss keeps me so busy because he’s
terrified of what I may be capable of if I’m bored. He’s a smart man. I often
remind him how difficult it is to be both beautiful and brilliant. Sometimes
you just get beautiful. J
Here’s something else you should know…I’m not an author. My
friends laugh when I say that. I didn’t enjoy reading as a child and English
was not my strongest subject. As a matter of fact, grammar and punctuation
despise me. Still do. (Insert gratitude for Barren Acres Editing here) Between my
quick wit and wicked sense of humor, I found that I have a passion for writing
steamy romance stories. I would have never considered publishing my story,
until a very close friend convinced me that this was a story that needed to be
shared for others to enjoy. So somewhere along the line, I pushed the publish
button. Since then I figured out that I need editors, and beta readers, blog
reviews and readers. It’s just like me to work ass backwards, but I’m figuring
it out.
In a nutshell, I have never aspired to write the next great
love story or take the literary world by storm. Love inspires me to continue writing.
I’m addicted to the way we connect with fictional characters, feeling their emotions,
their angst... when you’re body gets all warm and squeezy at the good parts. I love
when the characters take over the story and plot twists develop that I hadn’t
planned. I love the journey to the HEA, even though that road has a lot of bends
in it sometimes. I love how two imperfect characters can love each other
perfectly. My reward, my inspiration is experiencing through them, a love so
deep, that I feel it in my own heart.
Over my next few blog posts, I’m going to introduce you to
my story, Intractable Souls, the first book in the Bound4Ireland series and how
it came to be written as well as all the secrets behind the scenes. I hope you’ll
check back in and join me for that journey. You can download my Bound4Ireland
series or read a sample on most of the eBook channels.
Until next time… Live your life so it’s a story worth
telling.
Tricia Daniels… out for now!
