I have lived in
Ontario my whole life. It has so many wonderful places to visit – Niagara Falls,
which was where my Hubs and I honeymooned. And conveniently why the background
of this blog is what it is. *g*
Ottawa, the old Victorian homes, Rideau Canal, The Canadian War/Science & Technology Museums & Parliament Hill are all eye-catching and hold so much history.
Wolfe Island—have been there once and holds a lot of small town qualities and history. In fact, I’m anxious to set a wolf series there. So Hubs and I will spend a weekend there this spring so I can take pix of the area and get a feel for the area. It’s extremely beautiful in the fall too.

For the love of
Ontario, as well as various parts of Canada where I have family or have traveled
to, I make it a practice now to set all new stories within Canada. I’ll travel
to other areas as I revisit other stories set in a series, but my heart is really
into home/Canadian places.

DeleteI haven't had a lot of opportunity to travel, but I'd love visit Belfountain again and hang at the Cheltenham Badlands. We used to call it Mars when we were teens.

ReplyDeleteI've never been to BC. My Mom was an army brat (as she calls herself) and they traveled a lot. We didn't do much traveling for that reason when I was a kid, but she and I try to travel somewhere together ever few years. Usually to Calgary to see her oldest bro. :D
DeleteOh wow Layna. I had no idea that we had a mini badlands here in Ontario! Pic looks great. I will have to find out where this place is. I saw the badlands in Alberta and have been awed by it...dying to see it again some day. :-)

DeleteYes, I know where Orangeville is...but again, never been there. Thanks for the tip on the conservation area! I love walking!!! This may have to be a several day trip - one of these years. I am already excited!!

ReplyDeleteI loved the fact it was so British in look and feel. Not sure it still is, but the highlight was going to high tea at one of the hotels, and the fish and chip shops were yummy!

DeleteEvery one tells me to visit Newfoundland. Most of those people are over 60, but still, it's sticking. Also, I'd love to read a smutty book set in Newfoundland. For some reason I'm craving dirty talk in a Newfoundland accent. It would be hilarious and hot, right? (Unless you're from Newfoundland. Then it would just be normal. And hot, I hope.)

Newfoundland is the only province I haven't been to. When I move back east, its on my to-do list! What a neat idea to do a book set there. Lobster shape-shifters. Nah. ;)
