As I write this post, it is snowing outside. Again. And I just shoveled!
While snow is part of winter in Canada, I don't remember having snow banks this high since I was a child. Last winter we barely had any snow, which hurt the farmers' crops around here. But not only have we had a lot of snow fall, we've also had record breaking temperatures. As in, it's free-zing! Now, these temps seem to happen every five years based on my daughter's life (her first winter, winter in kindergarten, and this year).
Celestial Seduction - takes place in Ottawa during the winter
Sudden Breakaway - takes place at a hockey game
Accidental Romance - starts during the fall harvest and continues over Christmas
Hey, Santa - takes place just before Christmas
So, yes, there is winter and snow in my stories. I think I write these stories over the summer when it's really hot. That time of year, I wish for days like this. But, right now, I'm dreaming of blue skies and spring flowers.

My preferred season for stories (and life) is summer. It's sexier when the clothing comes off.

Yes, definitely sexier when the clothes come off. :-)
DeleteHere in Michigan, we're "enjoying" the same weather as you are, Jessica. Record amounts of snow, though our temps are moderated by being close to Lake Michigan. I like stories set in any season. In winter, the H&H can cuddle in front of a fire, which can lead to all kinds of things. :) (Leave me out of the giveaway. I have all those books. Loved them, btw.)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Diane! Yes, any season can work for romance. Gotta warm up somehow. ;)
DeleteI prefer spring or summer so I can discuss flowers and gardens.

Great choice, Liza! My black thumb doesn't allow me to discuss gardens, though I do like to look at them. :-)
DeleteHi Jessica!
ReplyDeleteYour snowy stories sound lovely. :-)
I too can remember the snowbanks being this high when I was a kid. It was great because we would slide down the hills at the foot of everyone's driveways on the way home to and from school...ah the good old winter days. LOL
It's a good old fashioned winter in Ontario. Woohoo!
I love stories in all kinds of seasons but if I was to pick a snowy story it would include a "snowbound trapped in a cabin" scenario. *grin*
Hugs!
jan
Hi Jan! Yes, I remember getting in trouble for sliding down a great big hill on the way home from school. Someone had called my parents before I even reached the house. LOL
DeleteLove the snowbound idea! They have to warm each other up somehow! ;)
Man, as a kid we couldn't get away with anything. lolol
ReplyDeleteVery true, Jan. LOL
DeleteI've been contemplating a "snowed in a cabin" story ... with all this freakin' snow, how could I not! LOL We've hit record breaking amounts of snow this year on more than one occasion.
ReplyDeleteHave read 3 of the 4 stories, Jess. Love love! :D
Thank you, Kacey! Yes, it is such an intriguing concept, and the thought will definitely bring the head on cold days like we've been having. I truly want the snow to just disappear once it is spring. :)
DeleteSnow snow go away...*jan singing* while she awaits another dumping of snow *le sigh* But we will trudge through this right ladies??? Spring will arrive...unless we go straight into summer heatwaves...noooooo! lolol
DeleteI'm worried about the flooding this Spring when all this melts. The homes in town, can't even see their front windows for instance, because the snow piles are so high.
ReplyDeleteWe should be fine, since our houses on this land are higher on a hill so the water will run downhill, but I do worry about others whose homes might not be able to handle the melt.
Hope we all fair well too !
Yes, I worry about the same thing, Kacey and Jan. With all this snow, if it melts too fast, there's going to be a lot of flooding. The river here is going to be a mess, and the bridges across it will be covered. *fingers crossed* it melts slowly, or it just disappears. ;)
DeleteCongratulations to Liza, who wins her choice of one of my hot winter romances! :)
