BLURB:
Suffering from burnout, elementary school teacher Sandra Cranston is on leave and trying to eliminate stress from her life. That plan is blown when she discovers an abandoned carriage deep in the woods. Inside is a man, Jerrod Ross, who fuels all of her wicked Regency dreams and fantasies. Take him home? Sure, why not?
Jerrod Ross has been ripped from the only world he has ever known—1821 Cornwall, England. A mine owner with many responsibilities, all he wants to do is return to his time. But his growing attraction for the lovely lady who found him makes staying in the future a temptation he finds hard to resist.
Torn between duty and desire, past and future, the hardest thing Sandra and Jerrod will do is admit their feelings. Or say—goodbye.

Previously published. Re-edited, revised, and more than 7500 words added.

Excerpt: Sandra winked then picked up the shave cream and dispensed some into her hands, mixed it between her palms, and spread a thin film over his face. In response, he spread his legs wide, allowing her to step in closer. Good God, he was hard as stone. All this talk of shaving, the touching, her nearness. Jerrod gazed up at her, his heart thumping madly in his chest.
Though she appeared somewhat nervous, he definitely could see desire swimming in her lovely eyes. How satisfying. Picking up the Fusion, Sandra flicked the button and a low hum filled the silence surrounding them. When her breasts slightly brushed by his cheek, he couldn’t stop the low growl from rumbling deep in his chest. Using one finger, he swiped away the bit of shave cream from her sweater, right on the nipple. Barely there contact, but enough to have the simmering flame between them roar to life.
He slid across the seat so his thighs touched her leg, reached behind her back, and eased her down until she sat on his leg. “Shave me,” he whispered hoarsely. Sandra held the razor to the base of his throat and began a slow ascent to his chin. She twisted, turning toward the sink, and ran the razor under warm water before turning back to him. Giving him a soft, sultry smile, she scraped him again.
Her free hand followed the ascent of the blade, gently caressing his shaved cheek. God, he was tempted to kiss her right then, instead he leaned back and let her tender strokes lull him into relaxation. Closing his eyes, he came to the realization he could become used to this very easily. Some minutes passed and Sandra continued with her task. In his time, he usually shaved himself since he was not keen to have a valet fussing around him. However, having her sitting in his lap perilously close to his throbbing erection, with her warm, sultry breath surrounding him, appealed to him greatly.
“Kiss me,” he commanded, keeping his voice low and quiet. Setting the razor on the counter, she patted his face dry with a cloth, then leaned in and laid her lips against his. A jolt of heat rolled through him. Tilting his head, Jerrod delved deeper, cupping her cheeks to hold her still while he tasted her. Sweet and hot, like a dish of honey warmed over the flame. He swiped his tongue along her plump lower lip and she opened in invitation. The kiss grew fierce, both of them hungrily exploring. Sandra met the thrusts of his tongue with insistent plunges of her own. Passionate. Intoxicating. Yes. This was a kiss worth traveling through time for.

New Release!!! Boxed Set! 0.99

Greetings from Ontario, Canada!

Hope all is well on your end. :-)

The last few days I've been nursing a cough and cold. *cough* *cough* It is a gentle reminder that even if it is Spring, there's still a chance at us getting nailed by a cold. Grrr!

Well, the blackflies and mosquitoes are now buzzing around, making for a halo around my head whenever I venture onto the hiking trails for a walk. The trials of Ontario life, I guess. LOL

I have a new box set just released. One of the stories "The Biker and The Bride" (previously titled Burn for Me) takes place in rural Ontario, way up north between Wawa and Terrace Bay. I love that stretch of highway. Dense forest and very secluded. Perfect for my characters to be alone with each other.

Here's a peek at The Biker & The Bride, which can be found in the Naughty Girl Desires Boxed Set.

That's Amore...No, That Canadian!

I never really think about things that are solely Canadian. I mean here in North America we eat similar food...except for down the south where they eat things like 'Gator. LOL We don't have those scary things up here, (and I'm totally okay with that. lol) But, we have poutine which is a gift from the gods. :)

To be honest I never really thing about the things that are truly "ours" until someone mentions it. Usually my editor...those comment bubbles always make me laugh. Like when I was asked what a"hydro bill" is because in the US they just refer to it is as the electric bill.

During my edits for my last book I got a bubble comment about a drink one of my characters was drinking..I'd just referred to it as a Caesar.
Did you know The Bloody Caesar is a Canadian thing!

The Classic Caesar

WAAAAAAAAAAT?
I don't think I've ever been more surprised. Way back in my bartending days I made a gazillion of them and it never dawned on me that this was a canuck creations. For those of you who are unfamiliar a Bloody Caesar is like a Bloody Mary but you swap out the Tomato Juice for Clamato Juice.
How something like this is created up here I have no idea. I mean clams might be popular on the far east and west coasts but when I hear about clams I think about the American East coast.

After a bit of research I found that it was created by a mane named Walter Chell in 1969 in Calgary Alberta. (dead center of the country and no where near where you'd find clams. lol) This drink was created to celebrate the opening of a new Italian restaurant. Inspired by Spaghetti alle vongole (Spagetti, Tomato Sauce and Clams) a dish from Venice, Italy.

So there you have it. In case you are feeling inspired this summer and want to try this incredibly popular drink, here's the recipe.

Ingredients:
  • 1 oz (30 mL) vodka
  • 2 dashes hot sauce
  • 4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 grinds fresh cracked salt and pepper
  • 4 oz (120 mL) Mott’s Clamato Cocktail
Preparation:
  1. Rim a highball glass with citrus and celery salt
  2. Fill the glass to the top with ice.
  3. Add the ingredients in the order listed.
  4. Stir well to mix the cocktail, and garnish with a celery stalk and a lime wedge.

Everyone has their favourite way to have a caesar, What do you do to make yours unique?

Join me and we'll raise a couple Casears to celebrate my upcoming release...

Spring ~ The Birds and the Bees, and No More Stars? Post by author Jessica E. Subject #amreading

Hello everyone! I'm back for my monthly post on Romance Eh? A lot has happened since I was last here. I've finished a story, attended my first conference (It was a blast!), and am getting ready for a few box sets and anthologies to release in the near future. Some will contain already published stories, while others will contain brand new ones. :)

It's also gotten a lot warmer, and the days are lasting longer. I take my dog for a walk almost every morning. In the winter, it was so dark, I had to walk on the side of the street with the street lamps to make sure if she did her business, I could find it to pick it up. Now, I have to wear sunglasses when I take her out at the same time of day. The one think I really miss though, is seeing the stars in the morning. I used to gaze up into the sky, and check out all the constellations visible in my part of the world. I used Google Sky Map to help determine which ones were planets, and occasionally, I even saw the space station zoom past. While I do enjoy the longer days, I also look forward to the fall, when I will be able to see the stars in the morning again. Because, I'm not getting up extra early to see them. Five o'clock mornings are early enough.

In my story, SATIN SHEETS IN SPACE, the heroine also enjoys gazing up at the stars, so much so, she has a tattoo that she has a tattoo of the Milky Way galaxy. Here's an excerpt...

“I noticed the galaxy on your shoulder.”

She sighed with disappointment, having expected him to kiss her. “Yes, I have a tattoo.”

Would a little ink stand in their way? She tried to pull away, to brace for his dismissal, but his hold on her never faltered.

“I like it. Why did you choose the Milky Way?”

Releasing the breath she’d been holding, Danyka smiled with relief. Her cheeks ached from the joy this man brought her. “It’s a tribute to my father. We’d often lie on the back lawn and watch the stars. He taught me about the constellations in our galaxy, and many other celestial bodies throughout the universe.”

A wave of sadness washed over her. She missed those moments, and her father.

Her date brushed his thumb along her cheek, bringing her attention back to him. “And what did he teach you about the possibility of other life—out in space?”

Did she really want to ruin this evening with talk of her belief in aliens? No.

He raised his eyebrows, waiting for an answer.

Oh hell. “He told me not to assume Earth is the only planet in the universe capable of sustaining life.”

“So you believe?”

“In a matter of speaking, yes.” There, she’d said it. Now watch him run. “But I can’t say I’ve ever met anyone from another world.”

His placed gentle kisses across her neck, lighting a fire deep in her core. “I believe, too.”

Even though no distance existed between their bodies, his kiss caught her by surprise. Any self-doubt she held onto melted away, giving room to the need to be with this man. His lips, as soft as when they’d pressed against her knuckles, stole her breath away.

He pulled back, leaving her body tingling. “Perhaps we could go someplace we could have some privacy?”

The idea both scared and thrilled her. She had never been one to do anything without meticulous planning, another reason she’d never had much fun in her life. But the evening had been one big whirlwind up until now. “Let’s go.”

BOLD SEDUCTION

An Intriguing Proposition
Passion. Seduction. Pleasure. These are the qualities of any courtesan worth her salt. As owner of The Starling Club, London’s most notorious house of ill-repute, Madame Philomena McGrattan has seen it all, heard it all, done it all. There is little that surprises her anymore, and even less that excites her. So when she is presented a chance at an irresistible seduction, she can’t help but rise to the challenge.

A Dangerous Game
Studiousness. Practicality. Discipline. Such are the attributes of a good scholar, and such are the principles Lord Spencer Hornsby has built his life around. Alone in the Welsh countryside, with only his wolfhounds for company, Spencer has thrown himself into his work. There is little time for the pleasures of society, not even to think of the joys of the fairer sex. But when an unexpected guest arrives at his isolated hunting lodge, Spencer cannot help but be baffled by the presence of this dangerously beautiful woman. And when he discovers the reason for her arrival, and the pleasures she promises, he cannot help but find himself irresistibly intrigued . . .

Excerpt: Of all the replies this strange woman could give, that one Spence did not expect. Damn his interfering friends. The last time he’d been in their ignominious company they teased him mercilessly of his virgin state. Never should have admitted to such a confidence, but he had one too many brandies and his tongue loosened. At the time, they did not chortle at him, but merely commented the state should be taken care of—and soon. The teasing, he supposed, could be considered good-natured; it wasn’t cruel. He knew the difference.
A sudden and slow simmer of anger stirred inside him. Were his so-called comrades lounging at a club in London, laughing with mirth at their joke? Sending a woman for hire all this way to bed him? Spence’s gaze narrowed. Perhaps this tart was in on it.
She made for quite a vision, standing there stroking her leg. A ripple of desire caused his dormant prick to twitch a little. Her gown, though garish, showed a certain style. Philomena the madam possessed an attractive figure and a pretty enough face, if not for the gaudy paint. Her hair shimmered with various shades of the midnight sky and glowed with health and vitality. His birthday was tomorrow, really? It must have meant Christmas had come and gone for another year. He did have turkey for dinner last week come to think of it. Back to the matter at hand.
“Please remove your limb from the chair, Madam McGrattan, and take a seat.”
She gave him a brief pout but did as he asked.
“I am not sure what manner of payment my acquaintances promised you for carrying out this means of humiliating me, but I will match the amount if you will leave me alone.”
She arched an eyebrow at him. “In the first place, Professor, your friends were genuinely concerned for your isolated life-state. This is not a joke at your expense, nor would I participate in someone’s mortification. Second, I’m stuck here for the week. Under the circumstances, we can hardly avoid each other. If you think I will be bringing in trays of food to you, or looking after those great beasts of yours, you are bloody well mistaken.”
Justinian woofed, raised his shaggy head, and after a few moments, rested it on his front paws, ignoring them both.
Her light brown eyes shone with determination. Quite an attractive shade, like tea after the milk had been added. One week. The place was large enough they could manage to avoid each other. He couldn’t very well turn her out into the teeth of cold, winter weather. Sharing accommodations with a stranger would upset his equilibrium; however, he must make an effort and keep his anxieties well hidden.
“On the second floor there are a few rooms. Pick one of the least dusty ones, and there you may stay until Boyle returns with the wagon in a week’s time.”
The madam crossed her arms across her ample chest, and the enticing glimpse of her bosom caused his cock to twitch again. “I can see to the meals as I’m able to cook, but you will eat in the bloody dining room with me. As I said, be damned if I’ll wait on you. You do have one?”
“Yes.Though the room hasn’t been used in some time. Is your verbosity always this colorful?”
“A lot of men like it. Yes, I suppose my talk could be considered salty.”
“Much like your cooking I’ll wager to guess,” he murmured.
Philomena smiled. “I like a man who gives as good as he gets. It bodes well for the task ahead.”
“There will be no ‘task’ between us, Miss McGrattan.”
She stood straight. “We’ll see on that score. I always follow a job through. Now there is plenty of food. I’ll see what I can scrounge up. I’ll come and fetch you when it’s ready.”
Philomena turned on her heel and marched from the room, her chin held high.
Theodora gave him a questioning woof.
“I know, old girl. I’m not sure what to make of her either.”
